Viktor Stalberg (age 23) is the third college signing for the Leafs so far this season, however unlike Hanson and Bozak, Stalberg was a Leaf draft pick who was playing college hockey. Stalberg was chosen in the 6th round (161st overall) by the Leafs at the 2006 NHL Entry draft. Stalberg is a native of Gothenburg, Sweden where he played before enrolling in the University of Vermont where he studies business.
Stalberg was a finalist for the NCAA's Hobey Baker award this year and a first team All-American. Stalberg's 24 goals was fourth among all NCAA players in 2008-2009. Stalberg is regarded as one of the fastest skaters at the NCAA level.
Before joining the Vermont Catamounts, Stalberg struggled to make junior teams in his native Sweden. However, a late growth spurt in combination with extensive off-ice workouts have seen his stock rise considerably higher than expected when he was drafted in 2006.
According to mapleleafs.com, Stalberg will be joining the Toronto Marlies for their playoff run, so Leaf fans may want to tune in to see how well he plays there.

Robert Slaney (age 20) is considered one of the top power forwards in the QMJHL. As an over aged player he captained the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles this year while earning scholastic player of the year honours. Slaney has seen a steady increase in his numbers during his 4 years of junior hockey finishing it off with his highest goal and point totals of his junior career.
Slaney was draft eligible in for the 2006 NHL Entry draft but was not selected. Slaney attended the Carolina Hurricanes training camp last year but did not make the cut.
Slaney will most likely see action with the Toronto Marlies at the start of next season.

Tyler Bozak (age 23) was the most highly touted college forward not yet signed by an NHL team. Bozak spent 2 years at the University of Denver, where in his first year he was third amongst all WCHA rookies in scoring. In his second season Bozak was scoring at over a point a game clip before missing a significant portion of the season with a knee injury. Bozak plays a fast paced game with strong 2-way play and is very strong in the face off circle.
Bozak will not be joining the Leafs before the end of this season so he can recover from his knee injury. This prevents the Leafs from burning the first year of his 2 year entry level contract, making him eligible for unrestricted free agency at the end of the 2010-2011 season.
Before joining the Denver Pioneers, Bozak was captain of the Victoria Grizzlies of the BCHL, scoring 45 goals and 83 assists for 128 points in only 59 games.

CONTRACT
2 YEARS - ENTRY LEVEL
Christian Hanson is a big, strong power forward who plays a solid two way game. At 23 years of age Hanson just completed his senior year at the University of Notre Dame where he has been playing hockey for the last 4 years. During his time with the Irish, Hanson established himself as one of the best face-off men at that level while providing a notable presence in front of the net in the offensive zone. Hanson is also known as an aggressive forechecker with strong board play.
Hanson will likely be joining the Leafs for the end of the 2008-2009 regular season starting with Friday's game against Philadelphia. After that he will likely join the Toronto Marlies of the AHL to assist them in their playoff push.
Christian Hanson is also noted for being the son of Dave Hanson, former pro player and co-star of the movie "Slapshot".

CONTRACT
1 YEAR / $480 000
Jay Harrison (age 26) was originally a Toronto Maple Leaf draft pick in the 3rd round of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. Harrison then played with the Leaf's AHL affiliate from 2001-2002 until 2007-2008. Harrison never stuck with the Big club in that time and then went to Europe to play with Zug in Switzerland.
Harrison is a defensive defenseman with a strong point shot. While he is not a great puck mover he is good in the corners and in front of his own net. The signing of HArrison was primarily made in order to allow the Leafs to send Anton Stralman and Phil Oreskovic down to the Marlies to help with their playoff push.
If Harrison resigns at the end of this season it will be as a Toronto Marlie who the Leafs may call up if their blueline suffers a rash of injuries in 2009-2010.
